Tools for Government Web Managers

We've gathered a list of links to shared tools and services for web managers of government agencies. Many of these resources are free or of nominal cost to U.S. government agencies.

If your agency (U.S. federal, state, local government) offers a tool or service that can be shared with other government agencies or if you know of a tool or service that can be shared with the government web community, please email us.

Code (Web)

  • Web Code Sharing Wiki is now available on OMB's MAX wiki so government web managers* can share web code across government. The space provides guidance on how to share code. Government web managers also can use the wiki space to request code that others may have as well as offer suggestions on how to improve the space.

*(Right now only federal employees can participate in OMB's MAX wiki, but the MAX team is working to open this space to state and local government employees too.

Contract Vehicles

  • USA Contact Center Services—USA Services (GSA) provides services to help federal government agencies manage contact, call, and customer services centers

Terms of Service Agreements with New Media Providers

A coalition of federal agencies (led by GSA's Office of Citizen Services) has negotiated Terms of Service agreements with a broad range of social media providers who offer free services to users. These negotiated agreements resolve issues with the existing standard Terms of Service that are problematic to federal agencies.
