Lunch Roundtable Discussions
At the workshop, hundreds of government web managers met to talk about ways to collaborate on developing and maintaining content across agencies. They discussed topic areas such as health; environment, energy, and agriculture; money and business; science; culture and recreation; social services; defense and security; and education and jobs.

Plain Language.gov is for Government employees who want to improve the clarity and usability of their agencies' electronic and written communications. It is divided onto six sections:

- Resources
The site also highlights related news and events, including the monthly meetings of the Plain Language Action and Information Network (PLAIN) which sponsors the site.

- The Federal Multilingual Websites Committee (FMWC) is a group of federal, state and local web managers working to expand and improve web content in languages other than English. The group’s primary purpose is to meet the growing demand for government information and services in other languages and to share ideas, challenges, and best practices for managing multilingual content and websites.
The group works to support Executive Order 13166,“ Improving Access to Services for People with Limited English Proficiency.”

- Live Web Chat Demonstration (RightNow Technologies)—USA.gov is piloting this new channel to communicate with citizens. Web chat allows customers to ask a question about federal agencies, programs, benefits, or services. Service representatives answer these questions via web chat. Learn the best practices for implementing web chat with your agency.
