Webinar Description
No budget for a lab with one-way mirrors and cameras? In this webinar, Steve Krug, renowned author of Don’t Make Me Think: A Common Sense Approach to Web Usability, walks us through his practical toolkit of usability methods. He'll provide practical advice for doing website makeovers, "drive-by testing," and how to launch a monthly “usability day” at your organization -- all on a shoestring budget.
About the Instructor
Starting in 1987, usability expert Steve Krug labored for many years in pleasant obscurity, helping clients like AOL, Apple, Lexus, and Bloomberg News develop products and Web sites that people could actually use and enjoy. But since his book Don't Make Me Think! A Common Sense Approach to Web Usability appeared in 2000 and sold 150,000 copies, he's had to settle for relative obscurity. His prior lives had included ten years as a technical writer, writing and illustrating manuals for everything from PC software to a water park log flume ride. His B.A. in English literature from Boston College was of little value in this regard. Nowadays he spends most of his time teaching usability workshops, lecturing, and doing expert usability reviews of Web sites and sites-in-progress. His consulting firm, Advanced Common Sense (“just me and a few well-placed mirrors”) is based in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts.
